Lynn was born in Haverstraw, New York, a village on the banks of the Hudson River. While she has lived in California, Colorado and Vermont, the Mid-Hudson Valley has been home for most of her life.
She was a Fine Art major and worked in the Art Department of Prentice–Hall, Inc. Later, she received her Masters of Science in Education and was a special education teacher in the Wappingers Central School District.
Lynn says, “I have always been an avid photographer and enthusiastic traveler, and feel fortunate to have explored exceptional national and international locations. The Hudson River Region, my own backyard so to speak, is bursting with outstanding image possibilities. Photography is all about capturing the light, and it is a joy to do that as it plays with the architecture and nature around us. Getting the perfect shot has resonated with me since childhood. My goal is to share my passion for the beauty, as well as the abstract nature of the Hudson Valley, and the world beyond, with others. I hope that through my photographs, the viewer is afforded the opportunity to notice and celebrate the extraordinary before our very eyes.”
Every home or office can be graced with an image that evokes a powerful emotion enabling one to travel to a place of joy, wonder, identification or question with just a glance. A photograph which elicits these responses can bring deep satisfaction and meaning for years to come.
Lynn, an award winning photographer, is a member of the Dutchess Regional Professional Photographers, Artists in the Parks, Dutchess County Arts Council/Barrett Art Center, Howland Cultural Center and Mid-Hudson Photography Club.
